One Word Answer:
Accountability.
We all know it is not 1961 anymore. The world has not only moved decades on, we now live in a whole new century. The days of "The Good 'Ole Boys" self-servingly and wholly unjustly sweeping crap under the rug whilst winking and nodding and smirking at each other are truly done. Even here in tiny, reactionary Newcomb, NY. Why? Because I am here teach our dinosaurs those days are done. Beyond my teaching, those days are also done for one other really simple reason;
Accountability.
FFLO's very lives are being grotesquely and needlessly endangered simply because of the stupid arrogance of these dinosaurs. They have clearly demonstrated on numerous occasions that they are capable of (rather poorly but passably) hosting our FFLO meetings on Zoom. The Town of Newcomb has been doing this kinda well for years now. The only reason why the dinosaurs we are only temporarily saddled with refuse to follow suit is cuz they are scared. Scared of what?;
Accountability.
Scared that they will be exposed for the sorts of individuals they truly are, not the sort they pretend so well to be. Scared that FFLO's (Fellow Flow Lot Owners) will actually get involved in the process of managing our Flow, and will offer input which runs counter to dinosaur cult-think. Scared that they will actually have to put in some work and truly serve all our FFLO's, instead of only those who unquestioningly subscribe to their hive-minded way of "thinking". Scared that their anonymous propaganda-laced FB page's posters will be named and shamed. Scared of being held one thing;
Accountable.
Innocent people do NOT hide the evidence of their innocence. But guilty people hide evidence of their guilt.
Guilty folks always hide in the shadows of their own terror of their knowing that (assuming they do not pass first) one day, they absolutely will be held;
Accountable.
What do you imagine our Bunch Of Dinosaurs are hiding from us and will actually risk our lives over just to keep it secret? Beats me - so why do they cower and hide if they are such "good" people? 🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽
